What are KIDORCA Organic Basics made from?
Our Organic Basics collection is made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton. The fabric is soft, breathable and designed for comfortable everyday wear.

GOTS stands for the Global Organic Textile Standard. It is an internationally recognized textile standard covering the processing of certified organic fibres and including environmental and social criteria throughout production.
Are KIDORCA Organic Basics suitable for sensitive skin?
Our Organic Basics are made from soft, breathable organic cotton and feature a tag-free design for added comfort. Many families choose organic cotton for children with sensitive skin. However, every child’s skin is different, and our clothing is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent eczema or another medical condition.
Can KIDORCA Organic Basics be mixed and matched?
Yes. Our tees, leggings, joggers and hoodies are designed in coordinating colours so families can easily build comfortable, mix-and-match outfits.
Outerwear
Are KIDORCA jackets waterproof?
Selected KIDORCA outerwear is waterproof. Waterproof ratings and construction vary by product, so customers should review the technical specifications listed on the individual product page.
What does a 12,000 mm waterproof rating mean?
A 12,000 mm waterproof rating measures how much water pressure a fabric can withstand before moisture penetrates it. This level of protection is designed for wet weather, rain, snow and active outdoor play when combined with the garment’s fully seam-sealed construction.
What does breathability mean?
Breathability measures how effectively moisture vapour can move through a fabric. A higher breathability rating can help reduce moisture buildup inside a garment while children are active.
What are the waterproof and breathability ratings of KIDORCA outerwear?
Ratings vary by product:
- TOFINO Technical Jacket: 12,000 mm waterproof and 10,000 g/m² breathability
- TOFINO Rain Pants: 12,000 mm waterproof and 10,000 g/m² breathability
- CYPRESS Winter Jacket: 12,000 mm waterproof and 10,000 g/m² breathability
- CYPRESS Snow Pants: 12,000 mm waterproof and 10,000 g/m² breathability
- PORTEAU Reversible Waterproof Puffer: 12,000 mm waterproof and 7,000 g/m² breathability
Please check each product page for its complete specifications.
Are KIDORCA outerwear seams sealed?
Selected KIDORCA waterproof garments have fully taped or fully seam-sealed construction. Sealing the seams helps prevent water from entering through the garment’s stitching. Consult the individual product page for details.
What is BIONIC-FINISH® ECO?
BIONIC-FINISH® ECO is a PFC-free water-repellent finish used on selected KIDORCA outerwear. It helps water bead off the outside of the garment without using intentionally added perfluorinated chemicals in the finish.
Does KIDORCA use recycled materials?
Selected KIDORCA outerwear is made with recycled polyester. Material composition varies, so the exact details are provided on each product page.
What does OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 mean?
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 indicates that a certified textile has been tested for a wide range of harmful substances. This certification applies only to KIDORCA products specifically identified as OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified.
What should children wear under waterproof outerwear?
Begin with a comfortable, moisture-managing base layer. Add a fleece or insulating mid-layer in cooler temperatures, followed by a waterproof outer layer. The number and weight of layers should be adjusted for the weather and the child’s activity level.
Rain Boots
What makes KIDORCA rain boots different?
KIDORCA’s above-the-knee wader boots combine a natural rubber boot with an extended, breathable gaiter. The higher coverage helps protect children during puddle play, muddy walks and wet-weather adventures.
How should children’s rain boots fit?
Rain boots should provide enough room for comfortable movement and an appropriate sock without slipping excessively at the heel. Always consult the product’s size chart and measure the child’s foot before ordering.
Swimwear
Does KIDORCA swimwear provide sun protection?
KIDORCA swimwear is made with UPF 50+ fabric. The protection is engineered into the fabric rather than applied as a temporary surface treatment.
What does UPF 50+ mean?
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. UPF 50+ fabric blocks at least 98% of ultraviolet radiation when the fabric is new, dry, unstretched and used as intended.
Does UPF swimwear replace sunscreen?
No. UPF clothing only protects the skin it covers. Families should continue using broad-spectrum sunscreen on uncovered skin and follow other sun-safety practices, including seeking shade and wearing a hat.
Is KIDORCA swimwear quick drying?
Yes. KIDORCA swimwear uses lightweight, quick-drying fabric designed for comfort in and out of the water.
Can KIDORCA swimwear be mixed and matched?
Yes. Selected rashguards, swim trunks, bikinis, one-pieces and bucket hats are available in coordinating colours and prints.
Product Care
How should I wash KIDORCA clothing?
Always follow the care label attached to the individual garment. Washing instructions vary by fabric and product type. Closing zippers and washing technical garments with similar items can help protect the garment during cleaning.
Can I use fabric softener on waterproof clothing?
Fabric softener is generally not recommended for technical waterproof outerwear because it can affect the garment’s performance. Follow the instructions on the garment’s care label.
How can I help KIDORCA clothing last longer?
Follow the care label, wash only when needed, close zippers before washing and store garments clean and dry. Passing well-maintained clothing along to another child can also extend its useful life.
